The best way to start in my opinion would be to get a hosting reseller account, then you can always upgrade to something like a dedicated server once you are established. I currently have a hosting reseller account with a very good company who are great on support and price. If you would be interested I could forward you the companies details. Thats easy. If you have the rite equipment ( e.g. server, very fast internet connection, and the knowledge of how to run the server software). All you are doing is letting people store their websites on your server and probably providing them with a domain(at a cost). It would cost you the energy of constantly having your server running, you can never shut it off. And the time. I dont know too much about it, bu im sure thats the basics.
