    if you change your hosting from website, and your domain is from another provider that is the hosting, then you have to go in domain name admin area, and in your account you have the domain DNS, and you have to change the NS, name servers.

    from a windows command prompt, type:

    nslookup – www.whatever.com

    that will tell you what the ip address is as it is found through DNS.

    i’m not sure if that’s what you were asking, but if you wanted to know what is resolved from an address, that is how you can do it from home.
