What is the best web hosting site?
A frequently-asked query:
I need something cheap – less than /month even after the one or two year promo periods.
It’s for a personal website + blog / video blog. Because of the videos, I’d prefer something with unlimited bandwidth and storage. I know that many sites offer these for a low price, but which loads reasonably quickly and offers good customer support?
What do you think is the best web hosting site?
I’m seriously considering iPage, but I hear that they run slowly with WordPress. In terms of design, I generally know my way around HTML and CSS, but it would be better if I can just get a point and click site builder.

Just a few points first. I hope you don’t have a video site like Youtube (where users upload their video) in mind, because it is usually not allowed under shared hosting. If you meant a site where you will share your videos, then of course you are great to go. If your site becomes very popular and there are 1000s of visitors every month on your video site, you might not be able to continue with a less than $10/month type of hosting. But I suppose even if that is your eventual plan, for the first few years, that won’t be true. (For those you might need to move to dedicated hosting).
iPage, JustHost, 1and1 and Godaddy are ones that I’d personally stay away from. If you research a little deeper you’ll find that their service is bad and the servers are many times found to be slow. I’d recommend you to actually stay away from any of those $3.x/month type of web hosts. They rely more on marketing than on actual quality of support to expand their businesses. REmember you’ll only get what you pay for. Have a look at:

Pick one that satisfies your needs. All of them will provide you with top notch service and reasonable prices.
There is nothing especially wrong with iPage and WordPress by the way. WP uses MySQL database and all such applications will tend to be slow on crammed up servers. That won’t be the case with many good web hosts. Good that you are not a beginner… you can of course use the sitebuilders that come free with your web hosting plan and then modify the CSS / HTML for fine tuning.
All the best.
GoDaddy – less than $5/month with no promo. (There are sometimes 10% off coupons on coupon sites.)
